Welcome to Little Critterz!
About 1,500 species of starfish occur on the seabed in all the world's oceans, from the tropics to frigid polar waters. They are found from shallow waters to great depths of 6,000 m / 20,000 ft below the surface. Most starfish have five arms. Some species have six to fifteen arms and one Antarctic species can have over fifty arms! Starfish fossils have been found dating back 450 million years ago
