The curious coatimundi, once known to be a found mostly in Mexico and South America is now also occasionally being sighted in Texas and Arizona. It is related to the kinkajou and the North American raccoon. Unlike the latter, however, they are diurnal, going about their activities during the day. 

Little Critterz fun facts: Coatimundi are members of the raccoon family native to tropical and sub tropical South America.  They are dinural, living both on the ground and in trees. They are omnivorous living on a diet of fruit and smaller prey.
